Sonni Hönscheid joins Black Project SUP team

Black Project is pleased to announce that world renowned elite paddler Sonni Honscheid has joined our Pro SUP team. #SONNI had already been using the fins and was 2nd at the Carolina Cup recently using the #TIGER for the first time in competition. Regarded as one of the best all-round paddlers in the world she is currently ranked #5 in the world race rankings by SUPracer.com. With the margins between 1st and 10th so small we are confident that our fins can give her the edge to push for the podium this season.

Stoked to use Black Project Fins! A perfect combination of style and performance which will help me to perform in the races and get the most out of my equipment.” Sonni (SIC, Black Project)

“Sonni was a natural addition to our team, the more we talked the more synergies we found and I know that she is going to be a huge asset to the research and development we have ahead of us. It is important for us to work with great people on and off the water and Sonni has demonstrated what an amazing athlete she is both mentally and physically these past few years. What I love about Sonni is that she is more than just a paddler, a full time artist and professional paddler Sonni has grown up in the ocean and gives so much back to the community.” Chris Freeman (Founder, Black Project Hawaii)

Sonni joins long standing team rider and legendary paddler Bart de Zwart, 4 x UK Champion Ryan James and reigning UK Champion Joanne Hamilton-Vale on our Pro SUP Team. The team will be using the Tiger Sprint Pro Race for technical and buoy to buoy racing and the Maliko Pro Race for longer distance, downwind and rough conditions while working hard on our 2016 range of race winning designs.
